Hey all

Just a quick question, hope you can help, well I'm going to scotland next week from LGW and I wanted to know if there was any way I can use the virgin lounge? I have used it twice before (2010 & 2011) and wanted to use it again to relax before I head up north? Really hoping that because I've used it before it may allow me some chance to go in there. I'm a silver flying member with 30,000 miles?

Thanks

From my understanding you have to be ticketed on a VS flight or code-share to use the lounge.
I don't even think they will let you pay if you are not ticked.
There are people more versed then me in lounge access that will be along very soon.

As other have said no you can't as you are not on a VS flight that day flying in UC. Your FC status and miles are of no help.

The Number 1 lounge gets good reviews but not sure what terminal you are flying from.

Oh that's rubbish! Shame though really but I understand it's a book with virgin perk! They should have some kind of FC entrance?

And is that a good lounge also! Nothing will compare to the UC lounge! And I believe it would be south terminal.

Why rubbish? Would you expect to use the Emirates lounge at Gatwick when flying BA to Edinburgh say even if you were Skywards Au?

I just meant it is a shame that you couldnt some how book it using your FC membership, but I do understand its an amazing service you pay the extra for.:( just like the lounge as its quiet and comfy before a flight.

Sorry, Fordie but a Silver FC member with 30,000 miles is really well down the pecking order. I wouldn't expect it as a Gold with 200,000 miles

DOUGALSMUM wrote:Just book yourself into the No 1 lounge , it's an excellent lounge and well worth the £20 or so.

Is the no1 lounge good then? My sister and her 2 year old will be with me? Are children ok in the lounge too?

Thanks

Not sure about children, but I used the lounge in march and was very impressed with it ( for a standard lounge ).
I was a bit dubious as I had read some bad reviews , but I was given the entrance free as I was travelling first class on the gatwick express and they threw in admission to the lounge for free.
It was really nice , spotless clean , good choice of breakfast foods , plenty of variety of drinks . Internet access , printers, pool table , lots of room.
Google it to find out if kids are allowed - I can't remember seeing any in there .

Hi all,

Just discovered this forum, been a gold member for a couple of years.

Was checking in to the Clubhouse at Gatwick a couple of weeks ago for my flight to Vegas, while I was there a guy came up to the desk and said he was a gold card holder, not flying VS that day, but could he use the lounge, and was let in. The lady on the desk said it was up to him to make sure he left on time as they dont monitor other flights.

After he left I asked the lady how long you had been able to do this, she said not for very long! So I intend to try it when I am at Gatwick again on Tuesday (not flying VS). Needless to say I cant find anything about this on Virgins website - and in fact it was looking for info about it that bought me to this forum.

Thanks

Justin
