So, having already requalified for AU next year, I'm now wondering if it's time to tactically do a couple of long hauls with the dark side to get me up to BA AG and gain a few extra benefits from that.

Realistically the lounge I'd end up benefitting from most often would be on my Belfast runs with BMI, so the LHR T1 domestic one. Anyone got any views on how good/bad it is versus (say) some porridge and a coffe from Pret, which was my option today? For that matter, does AG get you access to the lounge at Belfast City? Been delayed there a few times and the one bar is usually packed out...

Thanks
RC

The BMI domestic lounge is not a bad place to wait for your flight. There are several self service areas offering both alcoholic and soft drinks along with a small selection of snacks. Plenty of places to sit and relax. There's also a couple of PC's you can use. Not 100% sure but I think the upstairs section is now closed?

Not used it since the BA merger but when it was pure BMI it never used to get too busy. It was refurbished a couple of years ago.

Thanks Mitch - alcohol is probabably going to be off the menu as it's always early morning work flights for me. More interested in the breakfast offerings. GIven that I can expense what I get in Prets, doesn't sound like a massive bonus to have access...

And my word, isn't the domestic part of T1, especially where you go through a second boarding pass check, looking old and grotty... I so badly want an airline to pick up the STN-BHD route that both Ryanair and bmibaby pulled out of...
