What's the definitive that gets you into the clubhouse? I obviously know regards the VS side of things, but say, what about partner airlines etc?

For instance, this chap's article says that his *A AU card gives him access to VS CH's....I tweeted to him to say that wasn't true but he's adamant it is, is he confusing the relationship with Singapore or US? http://ht.ly/cRJSz

*A gold is meaningless for CH access.

SQ PPS Club and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members can access the Clubhouse when travelling with VS that day.

BD Gold card holders could also access the CH when travelling on VS that day.

HOWEVER - that's not the same as that guy's claiming "because of my star alliance gold". It's nothing to do with star alliance, it's to do with the private agreements BMI and Singapore hold with them. And the biggest "however" would be that the BMI benefit will be axed as their agreement with VS comes to an end as part of the BA purchase.

So in literal terms, he's wrong. In practice, depending on WHICH *A card he held, he could have been allowed in on that basis.
