LHR_LAX 747 Seat Configuration and Checkin online!

Hi,


Just wondered what the 747 seat config is on a boeing 747 to Lax from Lhr? Is prem economy upstairs or not or does it vary?
Also can you only choose where you want to seat with Virgin when you check in online 24 hours before. Does that mean people checkin in at airport last few hours get the least choice of seats?

If you go to the Seat Maps tab in The Toolbox at the top of the page and select 747 LHR Config 4 it will show you the seat map and ratings for some of the seats

There is no Premium Economy upstairs. It is divided between UC and economy.

If you are flying before Nov 1 you can select seats at any stage once you have your PNR on your ticket by going into the Manage my Booking page on the VS website. After Nov 1 all seat requests are suspended until they have upgraded their IT system and you can only select seats at OLCI

All airlines are required to check-in a certain number of passengers at the airport and it does not necessarily mean that they get the worst seats as families with young children must be seated together
