Hi everyone,

I have both some info and a question!

I recently called VA to check if there is anyway I can get my parents access to the LHR clubhouse when they fly next month as they are not gold card holders etc. I know that officially access is only available to UC, gold card holders, or for a fee with virgin holidays (subject to availability), but as a gold card holder myself, I wondered if there were any other options.

They said that I can add my flying club number to my parents booking and when they check in, subject to how busy the clubhouse is, they can gain access for a fee.

Has anyone else had any luck with this, or know of any other unofficial perks that gold card members can get to treat family etc who are flying without gold status?

Thanks all.

Not sure about that. The convention has always been:

Clubhouse access for
Upper Class passengers.
Flying club Gold members (includes certain other airline programmes)
One guest only for each of the above.
Virgin Holiday passengers for a fee
Occasional passes for a fee (I think that is what have referred to). May not be available on certain days or may be stopped if the CH gets too busy.
Guests cannot arrive before the guest'er and must leave at the same time they do.

I too would question the information provided by VS

There are quite a few Au Holders about and to follow through that logic, it could mean that any time a family member travels then the queues at the door would stretch right back to Security

Sorry to be a party pooper
