Just been on the phone to a family member who told me they had just requested seats from MAN-MCO on November 29th. Strangely enough I was browsing The Dibb at the same time and a member has posted the same thing.

I don't have anything booked after this date so cannot check but was just wondering if anyone else could request?

Just checked my Dec booking to MCO and yes, I can now select my seat (on just the outbound flight so far, but at least it's a start :) )

Possibly the reason why my inbound flight seat is not selectable yet is because the inbound is a LGW/MAN 744 and I'm in PE (330 on the outbound)

Got quite a few flights booked over the next 6 months. I've been able to request seats on the Airbus ones in November but not the 747 for my partner's flights. Seat maps not available for Feb/Mar even though one's an Airbus and the other a 747.

For myself I've been able to request seats on a 747 for a November booking although that is in UC but not sure why that would make a difference.

Apparently the 90 day rule thing is correct (it's an interim policy so may not be permanent) , but not sure why I am able select my seat? :D

It's also a roll-back to the old system rather than a new system as well!!

yep, just realised that - got so many flights booked in different aircraft I got confused. Some for myself, my partner and sons, all for different days.

The UC cabin seat map was definitely closed off for my flight inbound in November until today though so at least that's now done.

Maybe I'm being cynical, but if the seat map is currently available to some customers (looks like all non PE from 90 days), then maybe VS are having some problems with their systems upgrade and they are allowing people to pre book seats using the old system for a little longer as they know they won't have the new site ready for months yet! :?

I can book mine both in December more than 90 days away.

Both are A330-300 flights. The aircraft type has changed alot over the last few weeks (originally I was on a 747 and an A340-600), so I wonder if now they have finally shaken out the winter schedule, they are now able to release seat selection?

Definitely no system upgrade...its as before.

looks like delays

Unfortunately, the project is taking us a longer than we originally hoped and we have not yet been able to fix all the issues. However, we recognise that many customers were frustrated at not being able to select seats in advance and we appreciate that seat selection is an important part of the flight experience. So we’ve made the decision to switch the advance seat assignment system back on. This means customers can now choose their seats from 90 days before their day of departure
