Help re. changing dates of travel.

I have just made a call to VA FC regarding changing our dates of travel on our 'K' PE tickets.

We have four M&M tickets booked for Easter 2013 which were purchased upon release in May 2012. I had hoped to change these tickets to fly July/August 2013 and pay any amendment fees and price difference in the tickets.

Unfortunately FC inform me that I can indeed change the tickets but would need to re-book dates that are within a year of booking i.e. we would need to travel before May 2013.

Is this correct? Is it worth another call to the FC to see if I get a different response or is this rule set in stone?

If so it looks like we will be visiting Orlando at Easter after all!!!!

Hi, my understanding that m+m booking can be changed subject to the admin change but the trip must be completed within 12 months of the original booking date. I was given this response on the last two times I had to change dates. You could try another call and you might get a more sympathetic hearing if you can come up with a good sob story anyway good luck, any trip to Florida must be good news

Erm you bought tickets "hoping" you could change them, does this mean you looked and saw that changes were possible, but didn't look hard enough? This is a fairly standard term, shows it pays to check the T&Cs always, and I doubt that another call centre agent will be less knowledgeable.

No, we didn't book hoping to be able to change them at some point. I haven't ever altered travel plans in all our years of booking. We travel twice a year to MCO, Easter and August but due to personal reasons we felt it might be wise for us to just go for the one trip next year. I therefore hoped that it might be possible to switch the flights to the August.

You are quite right that I clearly didn't study the T&C's well enough..... I took it for granted that we would have no reason to change our plans, famous last words.....
