Well I've had a few ups and downs with VA over the past month or so but all's well that end's well 
Flew PE MAN to MCO back in August, delighted to find our return flight was on a refurb 747 but then discovered my seat would not recline. Reported to CC who tried to fix it but could not. Was offered 4k miles on board which I felt was pretty poor. Wrote to CS. Towards the end of the possible 28 day wait I decided to post on the VA FB page. Dealt with Greg who stuck with the offer of 4k miles. I then wrote to CS again and received a reasonably quick reply stating they would credit both myself and my husbands FC accounts with 6k miles each. Better result.
I then tried to postpone some 'K' tickets we have booked for Easter but I couldn't as they have to be used with 12 months of the booking date. I was quite disappointed at the time although I realise it was completely my own fault for not reading the T&C's thoroughly. As we were not postponing our Easter flights to August as I had hoped I then had the task of finding the best price/deal for our new August booking.
I had a couple of AMEX EC to PE upgrades on my account as well as over 100k miles. After a week of phone calls to the FC I was becoming rather disillusioned as I couldn't redeem any of my miles/upgrades due to wanting to travel in the school summer holidays.
Yesterday afternoon I thought I would have another check online and could not believe my eyes when I spotted an UC reward seat, MAN to MCO in the school holidays. I rang through straight away and managed to book it! Hurrah....
So I am really please to have bagged the UC reward seat, we haven't flown UC since 2009, so I am very excited It will be the girls fourth trip in UC, all by the age of 9 & 7.... Our eldest is really excited, hopefully they will be old enough to enjoy and remember it this time!!! They don't know they are born, at their age I was lucky to have a week away in Morfa Nefyn!!!
