Hi all

This is my first time posting on v flyer although I do check it out constantly and find it very informative. However was looking for some specific information if anyone can help. Flying from lgw to Las Vegas on 24th November and just noticed on my booking that the aircraft has now changed to a LHR 747 4 config. Was just wondering if anyone had any idea why this would be the case. I am sure it won't make much difference but was hoping for one of the new refurbished 747's.Thanks

I think sometimes an LHR aircraft 'fills the gap' or so to speak. One of the LGW 747s might be in maintenance for a couple of days? I've seen G-VBIG at LGW a bit (one of the LHR 747s)

We are going on upper class for the first time and have always been reading reviews on the gatwick 747 upper class to get some views on what it is like. Is there much difference in the Heathrow 747's.

The main difference is that the LHR UC cabin is much larger. In the LGW cabin there are only 14 seats in the nose; in the LHR cabin, as well as the 14 suites in the nose there is a second UC cabin directly behind plus half of the upper deck. While it seems a lot remember the staff:pax ratio will reflect that. It's not a question of LGW v LHR crew since they fly routinely from both airports
