Hi all,
this may seem a bit of a stupid question, epsecially for you regualar fliers. But me and my girlfriend are flying out of MAN-MCO on the 26th.
I made my booking separatly but my girlfriend had her holiday booked through a family friend who we've never met. We have her flight reference number but nothing else. Her family friend wants to just give us the tickets etc at the airport before check-in which is arkward as we've never met her so no idea what she looks like and we'll probably all arrive at different times to the airport so someones going to be waiting around for ages when we could just be checking in and waiting in the comfier departues lounge.

So I wanted to know what exactly you need to check in? Do you simply need passport and booking reference number?
Or will we need the tickets etc?

(On a side note, my tickets came through from my travel agent just as an e-mail print out, nothing much different than the invoice. So this is what's led me to presume all we'll need is the booking reference really, I just wondered if you could confirm this?)

Many thanks!!
Rob

To be honest, your passport will be more than enough, maybe a print out of your booking if you want, but I've never needed anything more than my passport.

It would be wise to try and do OLCI as close to T-24 if you can to help secure some seats together.

What Neil says. I only use my passport when checking in and if you and your girlfriend have your PNRs which consist of a combination of 6 numbers and letters you can do on-line check in to secure your seats together.

Thanks for the replies!! That's a great help! :)
We have all we need to check in then and I'll make sure to try do it online as soon as it opens. I have to ask though, do the seats you select on the "manage flight" before check in opens not matter at all then? :/ do all seats become re-available once check-in opens online?

The seats selected on "manage flight" are a request. We have usually been lucky and have still been allocated the same seats when we have checked in online. It might be worth a check over the next few days to see if you still have the seats.
Other seats become available at online check in (or a few hours before) so you may be able to change seats then.

You have to do OLCI at least 13 hours before your flight to keep any reservations you have already made, otherwise they can change or become available for others to select.

as the OP said they were checking in at MAN thought it only had to be 2 hours

Where you have pre-assigned a seat online, check in needs to be completed no later than 2 hours before departure time to enable us to honour this request. The exception are flights out of London Heathrow, when check in must be completed 13 hours prior to departure to retain pre-assigned seats.

Whilst we always try our best to meet your requirements, please note that seat numbers are never guaranteed and are subject to operational changes.
