The wife and i are flying UC for the first time soon..ish our 90 seat booking window opens soon and wanted to pull on the experience of the forum to advise where is best to sit.. We fly out LHR-SFO which I think is a 747-400 VS019 and return LAX - LHR VS024 A340-600.
Now they have different layouts so seeking advice on where best to sit as a couple, thanks in advance.

On the 747, go for the nose section - 12-19A/K.
On the 346, 3K-6K are generally highly rated, also 8-11A.
The UC suite is not well designed for couples, really -- you either have to call across the aisle or peer over the divider.

When travelling UC on an LHR 744 my wife and I like to sit in 12A+K so we can talk to each other easily.

If you sit next to each other (i.e. both in A,D,G or K) you will have the partition in between you both which can restrict interaction.

On a 346 we generally sit next to each other and opposite the wall dividing the middle "D" row from the Isle like 5+6K or 8+9A but not too close to the WC or Bar.

Enjoy your first UC experience.

Haven't travelled UC on the 747 but on the 346 I'd go for something facing the wall. I really don't want to look at a strangers feet plus facing the wall gives a nice private feel. We went for 10 and 11A. Just enough away from the bar too. As already said, UC isn't ideal for couple travelling, but we used the opportunity to dine together which was nice. I think hubby rather enjoyed having some peace to himself for such a long flight lol ii)

Thanks for the feed back thus far, do all of the seats on the outside rows have a window view or are they staggered as such that some have a partial window?

IMO no UC seats have a particularly great window view. All the suites are angled into the aircraft, so that even if in an A or K seat to see out of the window you have to swivel your head about 45 degrees.

12a and k are in the best section and cosy for couples on the LHR 747s. Tricky to get a good view from any UC seat that I have been in but there is a bit of a forwards glimpse from Row 12 in addition to the side window. Be warned that 12 and 14 have no overhead locker.
