Having survived a week of six BA flights for work its nearly time to head off for a well deserved break to the land where my Blackberry will not receive emails.

Anyway, random question. I normally get through loads of water on a flight and like to have a reasonable size bottle to take for the journey from the airport at the other end. Normally I pop into Boots and pick up a bottle but LGW is normally a zoo after security. Does anyone know if the CH have small/medium bottles I can take with me? I know it sounds a bit cheap but if I dont have to head into the main area of shops I would prefer it!

Long gone are the days when you could help yourselves to small bottles of water in the Clubhouse prior to your flight :#

When I was in Gatwick last week, there was hardly any queue when I got Mrs Buns her "Hello" magazine prior to our flight to Orlando

Ah, thank you very much. Will head off into Boots then before going for my champers and brekkie in the Clubhouse

Could you ask for a bottle of water on board? I normally just take the one that is provided on the seat.

I thought if you were in Upper you could ask for pretty much anything......within reason ):

Haha! Yes but given the amount of water I get through I don't mind buying one bottle although I have had crew fill it up for me before. I've been known to guzzle my way through two big bottles on a transatlantic flight and often feel a pain keep asking for water. Also hence the need for an aisle seat if not in PE so I don't keep bothering my fellow passengers :-)

Just to add, I do drink the alcohol too! Thought I'd make that clear as it probably sounds like I only drink water

Maybe the LGW CH is different (not been there for over a year now, although only a few weeks till my next visit), but I invariably ask for - and am given without comment or dirty looks - one or two 500ml bottles of water to take with me when I'm at LHR. Not like you're nicking a bottle of Lanson or anything (and why would you bother, to be honest...).

I've seen various debates over on the FT boards around where you draw the line over taking items out of lounges (filling hip flasks with Jonny Walker Blue for example!) But a bottle of water and a handful of sweets from the jars doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

I also get through alot of water and on outbound flight in January asked for an extra bottle of water once I'd finished the one at the seat onboard, and I was given a big 1.5l bottle to keep at my seat :-)
