Am i right in thinking that O fares are the cheapest in economy? Also, if L fares are being offered, does that mean that O have sold out, or is this something that VA can alter as they see fit.

Travelling 10/05, back 31/05/13. ( Man-Mco). We usually book much further in advance, but this is an additional trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so admittedly, time may well play its part. At the moment, economy fares are coming out at £806 p.p, which seems quite high, but i can't see this altering, unless anyone has a crystal ball and knows any different. Thanks in advance :)

If the booking engine is offering you L's rather than O's (or the other buckets in between) it is more than likely that they have sold out OR that they have become time barred due to the advance purchase dates included within the fare.

What fares are being offered if you adjust your dates by a day either side?

Flight stats is showing '9' in all Econ buckets except X, N and O where it is 0 for both the VS75 and VS73 on the 10th May.

There are no O's either on your return date

Sales in economy class are usually O or N fares.

L fares are mileage upgradeable ones and thus a higher bucket. If they are the ones the booking engine is going to by default it is poss that the lower buckets have sold out. You could upgrade into PE or UC (on the 747) if you want :P

Have just done a load check for your dates and the issue is with the return. Both flights into MAN on the 31st are very busy. No discounted economy tickets to be had 8D

BTW the 31st falls in half-term week so is likely to be popular day to return !

Thanks all, you've basically confirmed my fears. I guess i will just have to do an Oasis, and "Roll with it". I've looked at flying via a US hub, but even they're coming out at nearly £640 p.p, so would rather pay the extra and go with VS. Shame i hadn't made any plans in the new year, as PE fares were what economy are now. Hey ho! :)
