Has anyone managed to grab better seats at OLCI than those they were able to reserve via the seat map prior to check in opening?

I'd prefer something upstairs in PE but only showing space downstairs on the outward flight and no availability at all anywhere on the return flight.

What do you think my chances will be of nabbing seats upstairs if I'm there and waiting when OLCI opens?

There are a percentage of seats held back to OLCI so you possibly will be able to change your seat to a different one.

Worth checking just before OLCI opens as well as more seats are released as the T-24 hours gets closer.

I've had seats changed on me at OLCI with various airlines and at desk check in as well. And been asked to move once on board. It's only a request for a seat after all!

Good luck getting the seat you want :)

Yes we did, as VH release any seats back into the system, just be checking all the time to nab those seats. Be lucky. Linda

Yeah I'm flying on the 747 Config 4 which has Economy seats in the upper deck, they don't open until around 29hours before departure or when OLCI opens. Managed to snag myself 76K for todays VS46 flight :D

Happy flying

My friend regularly travels to Jamaica in low season and almost always chooses the same seat in the bubble. She said that the left hand side of the seat map is unavailable unless you are a VH customer but at OLCI there are usually seats available and some VS customers chop and change their previous requests.
