Hey! I'm traveling from JFK to LHR on an A346, and my current seat is 22H. I was thinking of switching to 20D, since that's further up, still on the aisle, and not in front of the lav. Does that make sense?

Thanks!

Yes it does. That's the seat I usually choose when flying PE. It's got slightly less legroom under because of the box under the seat, but I get restless during flights and would rather sit in the aisle seat anyway.

I agree, I'd rather be further forward too, although bear in mind that the pairs in front of the toilets get good reviews here because there is a wardrobe between you and the toilets, and you can recline guilt-free from the outset...

So if I stay in 22H it shouldn't be too noisy or smelly?

I've only sat in 22 once but I didn't notice any smell. I think that's the advantage of PE on a 346. Fewer people in the toilets.
