Talking with Flying Club, booking reward seats with MAS. I have enough miles for 1st class, but struggling to find seats. Is there a way that I can look at availibility?

On a separate matter, looking to pay for my son's access to Clubhouse, was informed fee was now £240, that includes limo. Has the £60 fee dissapeared?

Thanks

Hi

To check availability go on to Virgin Atlantic website, login to your V-Flyer account, put in the route and the dates you would like and opt for Upper Class and 'spend miles'. That should show the availabity on and around the dates, I think.

As to the access for your son, VS are trying to sell you the complete package (I can't remember what it's called at the moment) which, aside from an UC ticket or a guest invitation is the only guaranteed way to get into the CH. The £60 entrance can still be had, but is pretty much 'try on the day' and subject to availability.

To check reward seat availability theres also this web site http://www.rewardseats.com

It will show you availability on your chosen route in all classes and checks the whole month either side of your dates, makes it easier to see whats available without having to reinput the data

As for the CH access it is still available @ £60 but is subject to availability on the day, but if you don't ask you don't get, although be prepared for a no.

Thanks for responses, yes indeed it is Malaysia Airlines, not VS.

ExpertFlyer can search for reward seats on MAS - sign up for a free trial to use it.

That said - with partner airlines not all reward seats are also available to partners. I don't know the situation with MAS, but at least you can search then call VS with dates.

I wouldn't hold your breath as I believe success stories of having successfully booked reward seats on a partner airline using FC miles are few and far between.
