I will be experiencing the Clubhouse for the first time this week, :0 my eyes will be on stalks trying to take it all in!

My question is what are your must do suggestions for the time in the clubhouse?

Also in the Spa treatments what would you say is the best complimentary /FVM treatment for me and or the wife!

Thanks

You could spend all day there ... I find an hour to have food and drinks, an hour to wander, email, chat and an hour to treat yourself to the cowshed. I tend to go for the haircut and neck massage.

Enjoy :)

My little routine has become this,
1) go straight to the spa and book treatment
2) grab a table in the brasserie and enjoy breakfast lunch or dinner ( or sometimes 2 of the 3!)
3) retire to the cinema area parking ones backside and ordering another glass of champers
4) play the odd game of pool whilst pigging out on the sweets nearby
5) lots of visits to the roof terrace and the spa treatment mixed in with the above
6)stagger out of CH to gate
Regards
Blacky

Drop your bags and coats with the cloakroom attendant as you go in (immediately on the left) and get your shoes polished; the nice shoe shine man will provide you with some slippers.

Hang on to your passport, boarding card and wallet in case you want to wander out and browse the 'duty free'.

Check the counter immediately behind you (you're now facing the bar) for reading material. If there is a lack of decent female orientated magazines e.g. 'Hello' etc. go back to the cloakroom attendant and request said items.

Visit the library; steal a stainless steel Virgin pen with it's little red fin, and a notepad.

The cooked food is delicious and you can visit the deli counter for some salad, prawns, cold meats whilst you wait for your hot food to arrive.

It's perfectly acceptable to drink Champagne at 8 am, with breakfast, and cocktails, thereafter.

Have a steam shower approximately 45 minutes before boarding.

Leave the Clubhouse after the flight has been called for the second time unless you need a bit of additional time to get to the Gate.

Have a brilliant time. :D

Wow thanks guys i am now even more excited about my clubhouse time! Sadly trying to convince the wife that the car should arrive even earlier is a fruitless exercise so i will have traffic pending 2 1/2 - 3 hours to enjoy the facilities and a bit more if the M25 is feeling kind at 7:30am

Sorry to hijack your thread Kiddy888 but we're going to the club house for the first time in September (sadly not flying Upper but you can't have it all) and your thread has made me look forward to the experience all the more ^)

Tucking into a gruyere and truffle toasted sandwich with poached egg - yum, highly recommended.

What time does the Grey Goose loft open.

I think on the Virgin website it says 4 o'clock, which is a shame if it is, as we are there in just over 2 weeks and I have been nagging my husband to try the vodka in there and our flight goes at 15.35. v(

Yes it's only open to serve the evening flights.

The main bar downstairs will make any cocktail you desire though.

Unlikely to happen sadly - most days there are only 2 long-haul flights from MAN so only 28 available UC seats and - being leisure flights - fewer gold FC members which means a CH presumably wouldn't be viable.

Though it still annoys me that they haven't got one in LAX, with almost 100 UC seats a day, but do in Washington & Boston which only have one flight a day. Space constraints I guess.

Agree the main bar will do most you want but a couple of guys in Grey Goose Loft are genius. Guy from South Africa is really special...... Can't remember what it is called but the one with rhubarb is amazing :)

I forgot to mention that most V-Flyers tend to ignore the celebs and just let them get on with having a good time, as well.

Opening V-Flyer.com on as many of the computers as you can, is also amusing.

Top up the charge on your phone/iPad etc.

Cocktail wise; Lauren goes for Bellinis and Long Island Iced Tea; my favourite is still the Vesper Martini. :D

Which direction are you heading from around the M25 as if you're arriving from the south leave at Junction 14 and drive along Airport Way (A3113) and take a left at the next roundabout onto Stanwell Moor Road (A3044)which will take you around the airport perimeter and past Terminal 5 picking up Bath road at the next roundabout. Obviously, it depends on where you're going to park but you'll miss a fair bit of the M25 and M4.
