Greetings from the LHR Clubhouse!

Slight delay on the journey here - the Tristar driver was 30 mins late because of trouble on the M25. But not to worry, as I've done this journey before and I'd laughed at Virgin's suggestion of a pickup at 4.45 for an 8.30 flight (I live 100+ miles from LHR, on the opposite side of the M25). So we left at 4pm, arrived at 5.50pm, and I'm now in the clubhouse with a glass of Lanson and a haircut booked for 7pm.

One thing to note - this is the second trip I've done in Virgin Upper (previously it was BA or Singapore, as the work expense code insists on the cheapest flight at the time of booking, regardless of the fact that the Virgin Limo saves them several hundred pounds in taxi/limo fees on top) and neither time have I been charged the excess for travelling over 75 miles.

The one problem with flying Virgin for work however, is that it's my wife's favourite airline for our trips to Orlando, and having heard about the Upper experience she's pushing for us to go "beyond PE" next year, so I have to hope the US/European economy picks up so I get a significant payrise next year!

Full TR to follow - probably in the early hours of tomorrow morning if the jet lag from my last trip to NY is anything to go by...

Greetings from London city.... been a fair old day here although not a shadow on the CH.

With the +75 miles CDC incurring no extra charge... it used to be the case with my old firm that they had some kind of deal in place with VS which granted CDC transfers with certain fare classes booked - not necessarily in UC. Perhaps a perk extended to your firm is an extension of the 75 mile limit? They make us regulars pay up ii)

Hope you enjoy your time there and have a great flight too 8D
