first trip on VS

Always wanted to try Virgin and MAS and o fly from LHR and I managed to fulfill all 3 wishes in one booking.

I've booked myself a flight on VS 3044 to LHR, followed by MH001 to KUL.

hope you guys can help me with a couple of questions:

1) Will my baggage be checked all the way thru to KUL?

2) Unlike VS, MAS has a 30kg baggage allowance. When I booked with the travel agent, he assured me my check in baggage allowance will be 30kg. I am slightly worried about this, I checked with VS and they said, its up to the arrangement with the agent (ie, not a satisfactory answer).

Anyone taken this same route before? did you face any problems with your luggage allowance?

3) If in the off chance, my luggage is not checked all the way through to KUL, I have a 2hr transit in LHR. Is that enough? do I have to go through customs again in LHR?

The VS flight arrives at Terminal 1 at LHR and the MAS flight
departs from Terminal 4 at LHR.

Will the time be adequate to get to the MAS flight or will it be a mad dash from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4?

Hi and welcome.

A lot the answers to your questions depend of if you have booked your whole trip with one travel agent and it is all on the same booking reference. If this is the case, then you can get bags checked through to your final destination, and then your connection time should be fine.

I may be wrong, but I always thought that the luggage allowance is per airline, so you might be stuck with the VS 23kg for your flight with them, although I could be incorrect on that fact.

Depends if it was on one ticket (otherwise known as a PNR).

I think the higher allowance applies but again, depends if it's on one ticket.

2 hours is usually fine, there'll be purple signs for flight connections and you'll then be put on a bus to T4. It all depends if the domestic sector lands on time.
