Having been a FVC member for many years, I wanted to cost out our holiday for June 2014, I was then told by Debenhams my card was now out of date and closed. v( Fuming mad i called FVC, and after pressing 8 buttons to get a cutomer service :0 adviser, She told me that as i had not used my card by May 2011, it has closed down. I was in Orlando in June 2011 useing it. :D So when she had got over that shock, she said you have got an old address on this card, thats why it shut down. Once again we had used our new address through 2011.
She then put me on hold and then came back on line and said we have a new card number for you, We are very sorry. Please wait 24 hours it wont work online, But pop into debenhams book your holiday and your discount will be applied.Yippee we got our 10% discount and i am £700 better off. Thanks VIRGIN yet again you came through a winner. ^) ^) ^) ^) :X :X :X y)

1) Frequent Virgin Club is an oxymoron. I wonder if you mean Virgin Atlantic Flying Club.

2) What has Debenhams have to do with anything? Do they do holidays or something?

3) Why would a customer service representative be shocked with such information? Is it because you are calling the wrong shop with the wrong card? :)

Frequent Virgin Club is Virgin Holidays' frequent traveller club offering discounts and other perks for people who regularly spend over a certain amount with them on holiday packages.

Virgin Holidays do have small concession stores within most Debenhams stores.

Just to aide understanding.

In a number of Debenhams stores they have a Virgin Holidays concession who act like a travel agent but only for VH bookings.

Often they get you to pay at the Debenhams tills ,for deposits etc.

Also in some House of Fraser - there is one in the Victoria Street (London) branch - the old Army & Navy store.

And on checking the VH website also in some Tesco and Sainbury's !

We book our VH through the concession at House of Fraser, they will price match the web, give us the FC discount and free v-room and we get House of Fraser points which was worth about £55 on our last booking.

I dont normally book through a travel shop, But online, So i was surprised that i needed to process my card this way. It was the only way to get my discount. Frequent Vigin Cards are on hold at the moment, dont know why. :| Its a VH thing. But it gets my Suv upgrade as well as my Sheraton gulf view. ):

Last time I looked at Virgin Holidays, they were trying to charge me £4487.50 for a 3 week flydrive flying premium economy with VA. I could get the VA flights by booking direct for £2762.78.

£1700 and spare change for 3 weeks car hire I though was a little extortionate, so that was the last time I looked at Virgin Holidays...

Yet I've just booked a hotel only deal with Virgin Holidays and it was way cheaper than anyone else (including booking direct with the hotel).

It also worked out cheaper for me booking a Florida Fly Drive and hotel only separately but both with VH, rather than the full holiday package.

I always book VH this way now.

It's all down to availability on the dates you want.

Yep, our local Tesco has VH 'shop'. I've not used it, but I think Mallin may have...
