Hi, Off to USA in August on VS39.
We intend to stay in Chicago for 3-4days before picking up a hire car so need some advice on the best way to get from the airport to our hotel in downtown Chicago.
When we go to New York we normally get a sedan car from Dial7 or Carmel for under $50. Does anyone know if there is an equivalent service from ORD or is easier to catch a cab?.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Carmel serve ORD - select it from the 'worldwide' drop menu. Cost is about $60 + the usual tolls and tip for a basic sedan.

Plenty of cabs available too.

Also one of the shuttle van services (but can't remember which one I used)

Used this when we went last year....very easy, no hassle and very cheap ^)

Thanks for the quick replies.
Using the blue line looks attractive, but we will have a couple or maybe three suitcases with us. Is it practical to use the train with this luggage or should we stick with a sedan or cab. We don't want to create a problem for us or other passengers?
Thanks again,
Tim.

Access is easy at ORD where the station is connected by underground tunnels from the terminals (very similar to the Piccadilly line at LHR). Downtown, at least some of the underground stations have lifts.

ORD station is right at the start of the blue line so you'll be guaranteed a seat and there'll be plenty of room for luggage - clearly it's a bit more hassle than a cab but it's a lot cheaper, can be quicker and it's definitely one of the easiest US international airports to reach by public transport, up there with SFO.
