We are flying LGW - MCO In May 2014 as a party 8 including our 2 young grandchildren who will be 2 yrs and 14 months at the time. We've booked 2 seat pluses - 1 for the 14 month old and a spare so have 9 in total. We can 't request seats or check in online with seat plus (and infant) but I really like to get a block of 9 seats such as 26-28 A-C. I fear this will be impossible with everyone able to check in online before us. Does anyone have any tips on how to get the best seats for our needs?

You will get the seats that VS allocate to you. But VS only release 60% of seats for people to request in advance with the rest available once OLCI opens and the seats then will exclude any pre allocated like yours.

And just as a reminder although the 14month old will be able to sit in the 'free' seat it will have to be held by an adult during take off and landing.

Also if the flight is full you'll lose your Seat Plus (you'll get your money back but have an infant on your lap for 9 hours).

I'd look into booking the SkyCot (phone Virgin to do this), at 14 months the child might be on the large side for it check the dimensions on the website, but if you pre-book it you'll be allocated the bulkhead seats giving space to sit and play.
