Upper class on A330-300 LHR-YVR

Hi everyone from a newbie!

I've been reading the forums for a few weeks now, and finally decided to join in

Just booked flights to Vancouver for August. I'll be going out in UC and returning in PE. An A330-300 is scheduled on both routes and I wondered if these will have the new style U/C suite or the old one? I recall a flight to JFK in February on the A330-300 and that had the new style suite (although I was stuck in economy ) Hope I get lucky this time! Any info will be useful.

Are you sure it's an A330-300 and not an A340-300? The latter plane is the one normally scheduled for the YVR route. It has the old UC and, apart from one aircraft, the old loop IFE system.

Many VFers who have flown on the A330-300 are less than complimentary about the new UC suite and complain that the configuration of the cabin is very cramped.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Yes I found this a little odd too, expected the A340, but my booking definitely shows it as VS095 scheduled with an A330-300 3 cabin. Have seat 5A booked.
I have heard comments about the cramped UC layout on this plane too.

I've just done a dummy booking on the LHR-YVR route for August 13, which according to your signature, is the date of your flight and the VS website clearly states that it is an A340-300 Where did you see the A330-300 scheduled?

looking st the YVR flights for August, there are 2 days in the month showing flights on 330 the rest are on 340

Ooops, you are right. I misread your departure date. I've got the correct one now from your screen shot and for August 21 it is showing as an A330-300. The fares are good though.

I will be interested to see how you feel about the new dream suite. Shall look out for your TR.

Enjoy whatever. The UCDS configuration does feel a wee bit cramped, but it's new IFE and a good crew can more than compensate.

Thanks everyone. Looking forward to the trip and will post a TR here afterwards. Yes the fares seemed quite reasonable over those dates Quite a fan of the A330-300, still prefer 4 engines though.
