i work in the UK for a very big US based healthcare company & we fly people all over the globe constantly. for a number of years VS has been a 'preferred' airline for the company, meaning we get discounted fares.

Just recently they've introduced a fast track FC program where employee can enrol straight into Ag & gain Au with only 2 UC flights 8D

does anyone have a similar corporate programme? i've asked thme if they can do anything to allow exiting FC members to retain Au status with less points :P

We had the same thing at my last company. It is offered by VS to some companies as an incentive for their FF core.

The automatic Ag and subsequent fast track Au is only good for one year and you have to earn the TPs for upgrade to AU in a 9 month period. From my understanding of the regs, if you fail to gain Au in the time allotted you remain Ag for another year and have to earn 40TPs in that year to get to the next Au renewal. |:)

If you are granted it, renewals are still at the same 40TP as for near on everyone else. Don't think they are going to lower the qualification boundaries for your company, but worth a pop 8D

The recent (abused) IOD promotion was that you could get Au by earning 25 TPs in 7 months which is basically pro-rata to 40 in 12 but there was no reduction the next year in maintaining Au.

The 25TPs/7 months seams to be the standard corporate offer.

The arrangement I am familiar with used to be similar to this when it was 30TPs total AU boundary as opposed to the now 40TP threshold.. I believe as it currently stands you need 30TPs in a 9month period, at least that is the deal currently sitting with my former employer ;)

Who knows, company deals when route discounts are worked out tend to be on a case by case basis. A nice little incentive to get corporate FFs enjoying tier benefits a bit sooner than if they had to work through red first. 8D
