Yyyyipppeeee! Just bagged 2 G's return for NRT next May

I've been hovering for a while searching for G's to upgrade from PE S fares on my dates, and none, but plenty of availability either side. My trip is already booked and confirmed with a travel agent, but in the end I went back to the T&Cs to check on changes, and only £50pp to make changes, so I boosted miles for my OH for peanuts and this very day spoke to a friendly and helpful member of staff at VS FC to book my PE tickets and upgrade and we're shifting dates by 2 days. Saved almost £2.5k on 2 Z fares, I'm well happy

It does show that a little persistence pays off and despite numerous complaints that rewards are available !

Thanks guys, I'm really happy and realise that it takes a bit of flexibility, and once I realised that my confirmed dates could in fact be flexible, then it opened it up for me. Next time I look into this I will probably look at flights first.

Reward availability has seemed pretty good to me recently, when looking at T- 11 months in for June July 2014, 2 x G's were available on my exact dates for return flights to LAX,SFO,EWR,JFK,BGI,MIA AND IAD.

I didn't check other destinations outside of USA and carribean, but I wouldn't have been suprised if flights were available to many more places.

Also booked some G's for my parents to BGI this October and virtually everyday in the month was available as of 3 weeks ago, on the A330 hence the availability I guess.
