So it's way past midnight and I am still awake, getting a head start on packing for Fridays trip :) plus practicing staying up late, it's early afternoon in LA :)

I am concentrating on clothing , toiletries etc and hubby as usual is sorting out gadgets, cables etc
He just asked me what headphones I want to take, he has Bose noise cancelling ones and he has offered me his old ones as he upgraded. I am not sure I can be bothered with them as I am normally ok with the ones provided.
Did I read somewhere that you are given some decent ones to borrow in upper that are noise cancelling ??
Do they still give these out ?

Also wondering whether to pack ear plugs and eye shade , do they give out amenity kits on daytime flights ?

Thanks as usual

L2H

Ahhh L2H - wish I was still up in anticipation of a flight... unfortunately not :(

Noise cancelling headphones are provided in UC and whilst they are not bad, the Bose ones are going to be massively superior. To use the IFE during taxi, takeoff and landing you will need to use the VS ones, but no major burden. Personally I use my Bose QC15s whenever poss :P

There are UC amenity kits on day flights, so no need to pack extra ear plugs and eye shade.

Yes, I am becoming a bit more OCD. Mainly because I get told off for packing too much and then not wearing it all, how is a girl supposed to decide what she is going to wear in advance for 2 weeks I ask you ! And what's wrong with packing more than 2 pairs of shoes ? :)
Lots if nice neat piles of clothes are awaiting placement in suitcases.
Plus I have an itinerary and everything :-o

Coffee in hand right now, no coissant though as still on pre-holiday diet. That ends tomorrow at approximately 11am when we hit the clubhouse :-)

LOL TRUE!!! even I take at least two pairs of shoes on holiday. One for smart one for walking around the city.

I hope you have managed to get all your packing sorted by now y) just one more thing to do before you can relax in the Clubhouse and that's to bag yourself SEQ 1+2+3 at OLCI this afternoon ):

Enjoy your trip.

PS I got all my stuff packed last weekend as I'm on nights this week (and I'm really sad like that)

Nope it's not just you, everything is all squared away, all travel documents and necessary paperwork is in a folder set out in chronological order, all my dollar bills are arranged in order of denomination and all facing the same way, passport has been checked numerous times (it's still where I left it but I still check anyway) and Mrs H and I are still showing in our selected seats 12 A+K :D

Hmm, bit tricky as they need both hands free.
Have asked hubby if he will have time to do it, I am feeling under pressure to bag SEQ 1,2,3 now xx(

Thought about having Shellac at CH but didn't want to risk not getting an appt and , shock horror, having nude nails for holiday ii)

Time to put my hands up and say "me too" lol y) I'm a bit like a Sergeant Major when it comes to packing, and very organised, starting several days in advance and putting clothes aside perhaps even a couple of weeks ahead so they don't get used!

And as for my documentation and any cash - I think you guys could easily be related to me - cos I'm exactly the same (I'm a bit anal about having bank notes in my wallet in order and all facing the same way too hehe :D ) I have folders for holiday documents, then for documents for weekend breaks all sorted and usually they have index tabs on them too so they're easy to get at. :D

I can't help it, it's the geek in me...

Now L2H - have the most fabulous holiday and flights, and remember to take notes so you can tell us all about it when you get back. y) y)

What a brilliant thread! I read some of these out to himself and we're both chuckling. Seems we are all related and honestly, how can anyone not have currency in denomination order and facing the same way?! When I read that bit to himself, he assumed it was something I'd posted!

Ah, but how many times do you all check paperwork????? :)

Haha this is great news, I can tell my wife that I'm not alone with my OCD issues when it come to getting ready for a trip y)

Paperwork gets rechecked every time I book a new aspect or change part of my trip, everything comes out then is spread on the table then my folder gets re assembled making sure everything is in it's right place as and when I need it for my trip, I don't do the little tabs though :D

Loving this thread too.
We just changed one of our hotel bookings and I did the exact same this as you HULL. Lol
I even iron all my clothes (including ....) which my wife finds hilarious lol
Lastly I also prepare my flight outfit the night before and have it neatly folded ready to wear in the morning lol
Wow lol that might be a bit extra

We are all the same , brilliant. Best thing I have done for this trip though is a 'book' for our son, with his own special itinerary and lots of photos, starting with one of DTCI, CH, a A346, UC cabin, photos of all hotels and sights we shall see.
He is so excited he is still awake chatting to his cuddly toys about the adventures they are gonna have. I do miss the days of travelling just the 2 of us but actually for me travelling with a child makes it even more special just watching his little eyes light up at it all :)

Awwww that sounds really cool. I always loved the excitement of travel as a child and still do. Perhaps what we do is still because of the excitement of travel?
You made a book for your little boy(which is soooo cool actually) but I also look at google street view or check out and actually read the hotel website

Ps hope you have a fantastic holiday

Yes, google street views great. We have used it to look at the hotel and spot where the monorail is. Very useful when you are driving somewhere to know what to look out for.

I travelled a lot as a child as I have family in India, so there was no question that our son would also catch the travel bug.
Better go and finish packing now !!!!

Hehehe! Ditto, but I do draw the line at ironing my smalls v(

I have my flying trousers and a shirt all laid out too, and a spare shirt in my bag if I'm going long haul.

We've just changed our dates to get miles upgrades for our flights to and from NRT, so travel agent sent through new itinerary, which of course I've printed to replace the other. This is probably the 4th itinerary now as we've made little modifications, no chance of going "paper free" here lol :P
