There is only one lounge in Concourse F, where VS fly from, and that is Club America. But even by US standards - which are pretty poor - it's not great.

You can buy entry in advance for £25 per person at loungepass.com but personally I wouldn't bother - just leave it as late as you dare to get to the airport and hopefully you won't have to wait too long before boarding.

At least the satellite that VS use is pretty quiet in the evening so there are plenty of seats.

When we came back from MIA last June, a couple of the food concessions were closed / boarded up, so there wasn't much choice of snacks / food.

But - as a departure area - it wasn't too bad at all...

Like a lot of US airports the other thing with MIA is that most of the shops are landside so if you don't plan to go to a lounge don't go through security too early or you will be bored silly!

Was flying out of MIA the other week - Club America is better than most DL lounges out there imho - better food (sandwiches/soup/bread) - and premium spirits on self-serve. Still nothing compared to Europe.

BA (due to weather) and Virgin were both using for premium cabins when I used it (used BA status to get in). BA's gates in the other councourse were down due to lightning strike.

not sure if its still there; but there used to be a hotel in Miami Airport (landside) that had a rooftop bar/cafe. Not brilliant but compared to the rest of the airport, not bad. From memory there was a running track, v small pool - but best of all it was outside and for the price of a beer you could stay as long as you wanted.
