Hi

I've booked PE flights and wondered what the difference is between the economy seats, ie how far the recline is etc. Did you find it easier to sleep on the return journey?

Thanks in advance ;)

In terms of the seat, the thing of most value to me is the width. You get about four extra inches which really feels a lot more spacious. Yes there's also a bit more leg room and more recline - and that together the small cabin makes you feel less packed in like sardines than in economy.

Hi nkp85uk

Thanks for the info.

If anyone has any pics of the recline I would be grateful. Have looked on Google but it's not showing much.

I think it's worth it for sure.
As said by previous poster you get more leg room more space and to add I think a more comfortable seat.

Definitely worth it. Sadly we were unable to upgrade one of our flights to UC, but the PE seat was great. Was able to recline fully without causing problems to the people behind at all. I even managed to sleep for about 6 hours too..... the only problem now is I don't think I'll ever be able to book economy again, lol

Hi All

Thanks for all the info, can't wait for the pics if you manage to get them on, RachelCox.

I'm really excited as I've booked the premium economy as a wedding anniversary present for my husband, but he won't know until we get there. SteveandBarbara, I could only upgrade to 1UC seat but didn't think I would get to the 25th wedding anniversary if I left him in PE :o)

I'm not sure about the recline but - seriously - PE is miles ahead of Y and it gives you a much better chance of sleeping. After 30 mins in Y, your backside aches. That is not the case in PE. The width of the seat is great, and if you get a good crew they make you feel a little bit special.

We flew PE to Mexico for the first time in late Aug. We choose seat no's 23C&D in the bubble. Having flown a couple of time in PE with Thomson, I was very impressed with Virgin ... far better:) Plenty of legroom and wider seats, and as said above wasn't an issue at all when the seat in front reclined. Given that Economy upstairs was completely empty I tried out the Economy seats. I'm of average size but no way could I sit in these seats on long haul ... very narrow IMO! Had a great flight both ways, although food on both flights left a lot to be desire, but hey ho:)

It is not just the seat in PE that is way better than Y - the service is.
You get a welcome drink in real glass (I have flow UA International in F and only got a plastic glass !).
Food selection is not just Y on a nice plate. The menu is better and served very nicely - many airlines still think this is how you serve J class food.
Linen napkins, proper crockery and metal cutlery.

Then there is the small (36 ish seats) cabin so toilets is not such a problem. The seat is purple leather and what US airlines still call First class. In fact it is what used to pass as J class 20 years ago across the industry.

As you can tell - I am a big fan. Worth digging deeper in the pocket for.
