Hi all,

Have just read the following -

From 30MAR14 Virgin Atlantic is reducing London Heathrow – Manchester service, offering 3 daily flights instead of 4. Mid-day service is being cancelled.

Yes, that's been known for a few months. I think I read the LHR slot's being used for Delta's new Seattle flight.

The MAN flights are rarely busy so it's not surprising. It does, however, somewhat defeat the object of providing an easy transfer between long & short haul. Passengers arriving, say, from the US at 10am have a very long wait for the next LR connection.

Why couldn't VS get that slot? :-(

Fully agree with ya there gumshoe - let us hope that they get themselves into a top notch lounge in T2 to make any long waits more bearable. Failing that, I believe I have BAs number in my address book :P

Where would you like them to fly to G? I am guessing DL will be using the leverage of their 49% a hell of a lot more than SQ did ?|

Ahh if only... Rio is higher on my list though, preferably before 2016 ): If expanding the European marketplace.. Geneva, Nice or even Barcelona could provide a good feed and would get a fair amount of business from a few people I know :P

Rio! Ofcourse! That's true
European market is something I would like to see LR expand too someday.
I would add Paris and Amsterdam and Rome to your list too

I would think it is far more likely to see VS numbers on sky team flights
AF to Paris
KL to Amsterdam
And
AZ to Rome

All are sky team members and so are tied to Delta

Either code shares or VS joining Sky team I would think is more likely than flying in to The AF/KL hubs
Virgin Atlantic
