I knew my UC upgrades weren't going to last forever, so I had to 'fall' from UC on this trip. OK, so the fall was only to premium, but it did hurt!
Although I called every day in December hoping to upgrade it wasn't to be. Hoping to get lucky at the airport we got there nice and early, in fact too early to check in! After a walk around we stopped back at check in and as the only ones there were told to go to any line. I asked if there were miles upgrades available and the guy went away and came back saying it was too expensive and stay in premium. Here was my first error, still disappointed over the upgrade I didn't think to ask about the seats available in Premium (seats paid for in full, no miles) I guess as we were the first in line and still the only ones there, plus the expressed interest in an upgrade I assumed we would get decent seats. Ha! Silly me! Wasn't until we were having a drink that I thought to check our seats. He had put us in the last row of premium. Why?? I was too mad to even go back as I am not sure I would have kept very calm I was totally kicking myself but Hubby went back and asked if we could be moved and thankfully we got into the front row of premium. Why would you give back row, from what I understand non reclining seats to the first people at check in for premium? Anyhow a few glasses of 'grape juice' later life was good, and we were boarded. As for a trip report, well the 'grape juice' did its thing and I slept until 56 mins before landing! I don't even remember take off.
In all it wasn't awful at all, maybe not as well rested as usual. I was out cold by 7pm and I can usually get through to 10-11 if I have a UC seat. I really missed the revival lounge and the return trip will be hard without the club house......but if I I've more grape juice maybe I'll survive, maybe!

ISTBC but I thought all seats in all cabins on all VS aircraft reclined.

Seating preference is subjective I guess - you may hate the back row but someone else may love it.

Correct, all seats on VS have full recline.

We always go for the back row of PE first out of the door at MCO to immigration.

I like the back row of PE. More to look arround at in flight when you get bored of the IFE and there is only water/cloud to look at out of the window.

When we asked about the back row reclining even the lady at the desk said they didn't fully recline! Well at least now I know and it will save me stomping my feet and being mad at myself. We would have been last out the door of PE if we'd stayed there. I did like that no one could recline in front of us though.

We also go for the back row in PE as we can recline without worrying about the person behind you. Also previously had problems with people been heavy handed on the new IFE.

Only down side we have had is not having any food choice in the past.

Everyone has the own favourite seat

I personally love sitting at the back of PE. Apart from the fact you can recline without annoying anyone, you don't have to sit imagining what happens beyond the dreaded 'No peasants beyond this point' sign ;)

...Worse still when CC leave the curtains wide open so you spend your entire flight seething in undiluted green-eyed jealously :$

I choose the last row of PE everytime. Full recline, are you sure you have not been at the Christmas sherry a little early ? :)
