Granted, this trip stateside was not organised for the sole purpose of acknowledging my almost obsessive contributions to V-Flyer, but it did tie in rather nicely.

The flight out was awesome, in a word, with a fantastic and attentive crew y) y) What more could one want, and indeed what more could be said. Top marks to the crew of the VS3!! It truly is a shame that you only get 17 hours in this city before manning a flight back across to that green and pleasant land I know to be home, however someone does have to do it ):

I, on the other hand, have 5 days here :D and as I sit in my favourite midtown pub on this crisp Thursday eve I raise a pint of Sam Adams to my fellow V-Flyers ... I hope that my 2000 posts to date have been of value, and here is to the next 2000.

Congratulations Joey - I hope you are sampling the beer in one of my favourite Midtown haunts; the Ginger Man on 36th and 5th or Rattle n Hum on 33rd and 5th. They both have an amazing selection and very knowledgeable bar staff.

Enjoy NYC

Cheers

I hope you have a great time in one of my favourite Cities and look forward to a few glasses of Bourbon in the not too distant future (maybe Las Vegas in March ): )

Safe travels Buddy.

Cheers for the recommendations Martin, have been to Rattle n Hum before but not the Ginger Man - will drop by there tomorrow afternoon :D Was in the Old Castle over on w54th and 7th. Good Irish pub and great food y) they were trialling a new Sam Adams bitter yesterday too, so I got a bit merry on freebies as well as my usual lager supplement :P

Have the most fun possible, and I second David's recommendation of The Ginger Man. Liked Rattle and Hum too, not least because when we asked meekly whether there was possibly just a smidgen of a chance that they were doing food at 11pm they looked at us as if we were slightly mad and answered 'why wouldn't we?' :)

That I did Paul, The Ginger Man was very busy but managed to squeeze in a few... a sound service although the bar itself was nothing to write home about.. poss because there were so many people in there :?

Still prefer the Old Castle 8D

Merry Christmas to you too Mark, raised a fair few drinks to v-flyers, Yeungling Black & Tan amongst them... odd taste, still prefer one mixed with a Guinness :P

Looks like I'll be back in NYC at the end of Jan - keep the bar recommendations coming people ):
