Way back in august we decided we deserved another holiday, we both liked the idea of Miami so we booked a package with vh!
We upgraded during the booking process to PE both ways and got a better hire car. I did ask about the cost of UC...4.5k extra! I declined at the time

7 weeks ago hwmbo txt me and told me to upgrade to UC one way as he was fed up of my pestering/nagging...so with thoughts of the clubhouse and a day flight being a better use of the upper class experience I called and upgraded our outbound flight.
I got the silent treatment for a few days after booking with mutterings of "u spend money like it goes out of fashion"...blah blah! I kindly pointed out he liked my last upper class surprise and he enjoyed it just as much as me! I don't remember him complaining at the onboard bar flying to NYC, glugging Champagne and grey goose!
Long story short, I was happy upgrading going out and was hoping for a miles upgrade at the gate on our return.

Well...what happened yesterday? Another virgin sale!
I get online straight away and see that UC for my dates had been reduced. I then go to virgin holidays, do a mock booking flying UC both ways, and notice the price they give is not even £100 more than what I'm already paying!!!! But I'm flying out UC and returning PE!
I decide straight away to try my luck and call VH to see how much upgrading our inbound flight to UC would be....2k
I explained to the very nice lady about the pricing difference online to the one she just quoted me and after a 35 min call with VH, they said initially nothing could be done, they then told me to cancel it all and re-book loosing the deposit n( . I didn't want to pay the extra 2k or loose my deposit so I was then put through to a supervisor.
By this time I was outside pets at home and needed to buy my pooch some treats for his Christmas hamper so I asked the supervisor if he didn't mind calling me back within the hour with some good news (it is Christmas after all). He kindly agreed.

As promised, within the hour he called me back..."Mr Morgan I have an early Christmas present for you! I've changed your booking you are now flying both ways UC, the extra you will be paying will be £98" y)
I was, and still am, over the moon! I thanked him, said he had made a loyal virgin customer even more loyal and wished him a merry Xmas and a great new year!

So I've got a UC upgrade for £54 per person...saving me £1900! If you don't ask you don't get!

I'm very impressed with the customer service they gave and will book with VH again!

That's excellent I got pretty much the same deal on our flights but the other way around flying out PE and returning Upper. The difference between PE and Upper was about £100.
Well done! y)

Hello

I just thought I'd add my happy VH customer comments.

I'd been "stalking" the VH website for a good few months looking to book MAN - LAS. Looked on 20th Dec and the price difference between PE and UC was only £1800 for 2 of us. My eyes nearly popped out of my head, I booked it, never flown UC before :)

I have to agree with blacky!
Once you turn left...that's it!
Even hwmbo has been converted! I came home last week and find he's booked Vegas in September UC both ways! y)
Enjoy UC, you will love it!

Yeah I'm sure I'll be spoiled for life afterwards!

I'm yet to get my head around the 30/90 day seat selection though, I've read the thread on here and Virgins website and its either being made very complicated or I'm being a bit thick. :| If anyone could help me we travel MAN-LAS 19th June 2014

Its very ambiguous.

I fly on July 8th and my understanding (which is probably wrong) is that my UC seats will be available to me at T-30. But if you book the same flight as me after 1 April, then you will get immediate access to your seat request.

I've been told by virgin I will be able to select my seats for all my flights from April 1st!
