Can I ask those of you that may have travelled to Dubai for some advice?

We are flying in to join a ship in April. As I suffer from quite severe IBS (sorry to be blunt) I often use Imodium, which I buy over the counter - it is not on prescription. I know all about Codeine etc but is this ok to take with or must i try to buy the specific type i use over there?

Many thanks.

I've never been challenged about my meds, some of which are OTC and in fact many of them are readily available in the hotel shops

I had the same worries when travelling with meds too. But in reality it was totally fine and nothing was mentioned. It was the first holiday I ever took photocopies of our prescriptions with us.

We are in Dubai at the moments no problem with taking the meds. In actual fact all the pharmacies sell virtually anything without any prescription!

Yes, but as we go straight from the airport to the ship, we shan't have time to find a pharmacy before sailing.

Anyway,it sounds as if should be ok.

Thanks for the replies.
