I know I have posted about this topic before, but now that rewardseats.com isnt working Im having difficulty with dummy bookings.

I currently hold a PE ticket from LAX-LHR on March 12th, departing at 2200. I was hoping to use my fc miles to upgrade to UC. Can any of you VS experts out there tell me if there are any upgrade seats available, and what I can expect to pay for an upgrade? I have been on hold with FC now for 45 minutes so im not having much luck, figured you guys were my best resource.

=) Thanks Again

You can make dummy bookings on the Virgin website by selecting "spend my miles" on an availability search.

There is also the Chat option that sometimes appears when trying to make a dummy booking.
I have found them helpful if only to tell me I can't have what I'm looking for.

The actual upgrade if you are paying on miles is only going to be a charge for airport tax and surcharge probably less than £100 for PE to UC.
However, depending on the class of ticket you have you may need to upgrade that and that bit could cost a few hundred.

Currently the only dates in March showing UC reward seat availability are the 17th & 26th. It's notoriously hard to find on flights from the west coast to the UK.

But keep checking back daily on the VS website, and if all else fails ask at LAX on the day - if they've still got seats free in UC they're often willing to sell them for miles. Particularly given your flight's showing very full in PE but still lots of availability in UC.

I have always found the LAX check-in staff are amongst the best so it may work out fine for you.

I had already bought PE tickets for the dates I wanted in September and then went back to the booking page and set it to the dates I had already booked, Upper Class, 2 tickets and 'Spend my Miles'. I then saved this as a bookmark.

Persevere, I've been reloading the page every couple of days for the last month or so, whenever I'm sat in front of the computer and have 2 minutes to spare, with everything already saved, it's no great hardship to click next a couple of times.

This morning there was nothing, this afternoon it went a stage further and there were seats available to book. A quick call to Virgin and I now have two UC tickets :-)
