Bother, I was at that show. If only I'd paid attention, that might have been a particularly interesting talk to go to, though not really cloud relevant.
*Where* the raw computing power is (i.e. cloud or Head Office), is not really the issue for Virgin, its too many separate systems and the problems of connecting making them all work cohesively whilst adapting to todays requirements.

Sorry for the number of buzzwords there.... not quite Saturday yet...

Ha ha ha... that won't solve the issues with their website and it's current multiple personality disorder ii)

5 years??? Wow, that is one hell of a switching period!!! Mr Bulman sure thinks a lot of himself too...

An illuminating article into their IT cat's cradle, although step 1 should be to remove and replace all current IT staff - a true fresh start :D

I read that and thought the headline was misleading. It was more about the bolt-on IT systems that VS has accumulated over the years, the curiosity of VS buying tech which will become dated quickly, and moving away from the bleeding edge tech which doesn't always work the way it's meant to compared to tried and tested systems.
