With amazing food, fantastic facilities and a chilled out atmosphere, our Clubhouses feel like a private members club – with service to match. Reserved for Upper Class passengers and Flying Club Gold members, they’re the perfect place to relax before your flight.

nooooooooo, I wanted in. I was even prepared to sell one of the kids. do they ever let pe passengers in by mistake?

I know that if buying a VS flight through Virgin Holidays they have a certain allocation of entries to the LGW and LHR Clubhouses that they sell.

Edited to add:

You can also look at the Itinerary Calendar to see if anyone is offering an invitation to the CH. That, however, will only work for one person per generous V-Flyer doing the offering, and now you have to be taking the same flight as the V-Flyer.

Just rang va and I can get in if I either upgrade, but there is only one available seat, or I pay for the guest list treatment which is £680! I said if i find it laying around in a drawer later I'd ring back and book!

Sometimes, if it's not too busy, you can pay on the door (£65 at LHR, £40 at LGW IIRC).

Entry is by no means guaranteed though, and now Delta's elite frequent flyers are allowed in it's less likely that they'll offer it.

Otherwise you need to be in UC, a Gold Flying Club member, pay for Guest List or buy a voucher from Virgin Holidays if you're flying PE with them.

You can get in the JFK one if you fly from there on Virgin America in either First Class or Main Cabin Select (their PE). You have to pay a fee of $75.

I would also ask at check-in at JFK... ;)

I don't think VH can get vouchers for the JFK Clubhouse, I tried this and they only have access to LHR and LGW - although I stand to be corrected... I am not sure why they would not take my money!

I think the only option aside from the AU or UC is to try on the day... Has anyone ever succeeded with this?

I just wonder how the family will take it if I say I'm just popping in here for a bit! and then not turn back up for an hour or two :) I know by this point I will need a rest, 2 weeks on holiday with the kids and my husband!!

Wasn't there someone on here last year that said he paid to get in on the day ? His name escapes me

I thought that too -- I am sure I read a TR where someone was quoted a price for JFK CH access whilst travelling in PE.

I remember someone upgrading to PE for a great price, and it included CH access at JFK

I shall try in about 3 weeks when I am there and let you all know...

Not too sure what to say and expect to get knocked back - but hey if you don't ask you don't get... Anyone got any tips on how to approach this?

You may well get knocked back at check in but if that happens just be polite and say something like "oh well it was worth a try, thanks anyway".

Don't give up though - try asking at the Clubhouse itself as I think they have a lot more discretion over who's allowed in. Check in staff are basically under instructions to play by the rules and say no to those who aren't officially eligible.

Not sure if that was my tr but it certainly happened to me. Flew pe JFK to lhr. I simply asked at the ticket desk in JFK for an entry to the ch. I forget the price but it was a good deal.

Then this is where I shall ask, with a cheeky one at checking... If not JFK looks pretty decent for things to do and eat - no CH but better than most airports I recall.

I think its $40 for children age 5 - 12 if flying Virgin America, and $75 for adults
Virgin Atlantic
