My fiancée is flying back to LHR next week and after doing a dummy booking to check for premium upgrades, I phoned up VS, and sure enough seats were available.
After a rather long wait time, I had two options. £550 for the straight upgrade to PE or £20 + 10,000 FC miles!
Needless to say, I took the latter. I always knew that the taxes from the US to the UK were nowhere near as bad, but for changing from an O fare as well, this seemed too good to be true. The VS rep felt the same way, which is why I was on hold for so long, just had to double check what he was seeing.
