Hi, we're doing LGW-MCO in September. We usually go premium economy from Manchester but can't afford this time so have stuck with economy from LGW as it was much cheaper. A quick question. Are the emergency exit seats still sold at the airport to give lots more legroom? I seem to remember that these couldn't be bought before getting to the airport a few years ago. If so will we be able to buy the emergency exit seats even though we're travelling with a 2 year old? Thanks for your help.

I think you can book them by calling VS.
Just a point to note the seats next to the doors may have limited leg room due to the box the slide lives in attached to the bottom if the door.

Yes you can call to book them. I don't think you can have an infant in the exit rows though - but the extra legroom a would be ok (I think).

Per at240's comment, I thought all passengers seated in the exit rows have to be capable and willing to operate the doors in case of emergency, which in theory rules out an infant being in the row.

If you have a 2-year-old you won't be able to sit in an exit row.

You CAN buy extra legroom seats with 34" pitch instead of 31".

As a general rule you can book exit rows & extra legroom seats in advance by phone although the actual seat will be allocated at the airport.

They might be kind and seat you at one of the bulkheads which may give a little more room.

We were looking at sept too but with VS chopping the second daily during that month it looks like all the cheap seats have already gone the weekend we want to go.
