I am flying with Virgin for the first time next week - it has been my dream for years for fly Virgin Upper class, ever since they introduced the flat beds.

I happened to mention this wish as part of the Little Red Wishes birthday competition and was one of the winners! I found out I had won last week and have booked my flights for next week.

I'm flying out on the 6.35 Edinburgh to Heathrow service, then the 9.05 to JFK, and returning on the 18.30 service out of JFK, and then the 9.20 to Edinburgh.

Unfortunately with only 1 hour between landing in Heathrow and then taking off on our way out we won't be able to visit the Heathrow Clubhouse, but will we be able to use Revivals when we land, or do you have to get on the bus to terminal 1? We aren't checking in any luggage, not sure that makes any difference.

Thanks for any help - I'd also love any hints and tips regular Upper Class passengers have!

Many thanks!

Well done!

Yes you should get time to use Revivals for an hour or so when you land back into T3, assuming the flight's on time and the queue for immigration isn't too horrendous.

That would mean making your own way to T1 though (only a 5-10 minute walk if you use the subway - follow the signs to the underground).

If you do what they officially recommend and use Flight Connections you'll miss out on Revivals as it's landside in T3.

Do try and find time to visit the Clubhouse at JFK - the food's great and the staff are too. And you never know, you may get time to pop into the LHR Clubhouse for a cheeky Redhead - there'll be a bus to meet you off the flight from EDI that'll take you straight there in 5 minutes, no need to re-clear security unlike on the return.

Wow what a fantastic prize and a great story.

Are you really doing it all in one day….

There's lots of threads on here about UC, have a read of some trip reports and when you come back write one yourself!

Many congratulations scotsgirl, what a fantastic prize, if it were me I would fly down from Scotland the night before your flight to JFK, stay close to or at the airport (usually some good hotel deals available), that way you could get some time in the Clubhouse and enjoy the full Virgin Upper Class experience.

Whatever you do, have a great trip.

Congratulations too Jason, what did you win?
Will definitely try to grab a Virgin Redhead before getting on the plane.

We were limited to which flights we could get - I assume they were offering us the least busy flights (not that I'm complaining). We fly Wednesday and fly back Saturday

Congrats to you both, I saw the competition on Facebook (or was that a different one) and thought I should enter! Well done!
Enjoy the experience, you won't want to fly any other way again!

Congratulations both scotsgirl and jbis,

What a super prize. Enjoy your trip, and believe me, even a half hour visit to the LHR CH will be worth it, it's like a hotel and spa rolled into one. You'll have time for a Redhead or Mojito or my fav, a nice glass of Champoo!

Enjoy your trip to the max, the most important thing is to relax, eat, drink and be merry!

I've not been to NYC yet, but everyone here says the JFK CH is also awesome.
