After you have checked in online, but there is no printer avaliable do you get them to your email account so you could email it elsewhere for printing? Or can you print it off later when you are near a printer?

Also is 24-2, 26hrs before flight or 22?

For most flights you can get a link to your boarding pass emailed or texted then just have it on your smartphone - no need for a paper copy any more.

But you can print it at any time or at the airport if desired.

24-2 means online check in opens at T-24 and closes at T-2 hours.

Agreed. I'll ask the hotel to print out our passes for the way back then.

Thanks all!

You can still get the normal ones at the desk aswell ,I always have them emailed to me and printed but still get the old fashioned ones as well

Me too lol y)

It's great to know I'm not the only one that does this. It's become a habit over the past 3 years or so.

I was a bit nervous of the idea but used the smartphone boarding pass for the first time a couple of weeks ago and all went fine. I did a belt and braces and printed a pass on the way out although I didn't use it, but with no access to a printer on the return only had the phone pass. I had to reset the sleep mode on the phone to stay on a bit longer.

Yes the screen always has a tendency to switch off at the moment you need to show it to the gate agent/cabin crew!

I always take a screen shot as well, just in case - always worth keeping boarding passes in case miles/TPs don't credit.

I've never bothered to print a boarding pass or have it sent to my phone, and had no trouble at LHR/JFK/EWR. I just check-in online, then hand over my passport at the desk where they hand me the boarding pass with my passport.
