I've read the posts and the Virgin site but still not clear.
It says from 25th June Premium and Upper can choose seats at time of booking.
So having booked now for a flight in Feb, will I be able to choose on 25th June or do I have to wait till 60 days before?

Good morning,

I spoke to an agent on the FC AU line a couple of weeks ago to book a couple of reward seats to JNB in November for the wife and I, at the time of booking the agent told me I would be able to select seats from June 25th for this booking and my flight to LAX in January.

25th June. In theory.

T-60 only applies to flights departing between now and 23rd August. For anything after that, you should be able to request seats on 25th June.

Many thanks for both replies.
That makes sense otherwise the early bookers would miss out.

Note to self: Get up at silly o'clock on 25th June to pick seats.

Got up silly o'clock this morning to check on reward seats, cried Yipee to see them available, then spent 1 hour 1 min on hold on the phone. Then did a big dance around the house because I have UC on the outbound.

Well done! Persistence does (usually) pay off.

I know many people are relishing the prospect of once again, from June 25, being able to request seats at time of booking.

The problem is, of course, the further in advance you request your seat the more likely VS are to change the aircraft type. And that will happen - they only decided a few weeks ago, for example, to scrap plans to use A343s on some VS23 flights to LAX this summer - and if the first Dreamliner enters service as planned on the BOS route in October anyone who's requested seats on the A330 seat map will lose them.

So I'm going to stick my neck out and predict that seat requests lost due to aircraft changes will become one of the main causes of discontent on V-Flyer in the next few months! It'll be interesting to see whether VS proactively tell you if your seat request no longer applies - particularly if you've paid £25 - or whether you'll just have to keep checking yourself via MMB.

I'll bear that in mind and check.
