Heading to MIA in a bit for VS6 and it seems it's a pretty full flight - especially in UC. BUT, always in search of a miracle for those elusive Gs at the airport, what would the chances be of a no-show in UC being turned into a G? Would it turn into a revenue seat first then miles or just go to an Op-Up at the gate?

It really isn't that simple, there are so many variables that I don't think there is a straight answer anyone would be able to give you.

Definitely ask as a full flight with space, however it became available, in UC, might mean they have to do op-ups so an offer of some miles might be well received.

I'd ask at check-in.

My experience at the US airports is they're usually happy to sell an upgrade if there are still unsold seats. But of course is the flight is officially full they won't know if there are any no-shows until check-in closes, by which time you'll be in departures.

Op-ups are rare but if they do happen it's normally at the gate when boarding, when they know exactly how many pax have shown up.

Brilliant news, what was the cost if you dont mind me asking?

According to ticketing, UC was full and someone got moved down. I'm not entirely sure that was the case - perhaps 2 pax and one was in PE and one in UC and decided to come down?

Upgrade was $93 plus 12500 miles.

Hopefully a voluntary downgrade, otherwise if I were you I'd be watching your back.... ;)
