Hi all,

Does anybody know if it is possible to add someone else onto a booking by booking a flight for them in the same class and adding to the same booking?

If it is possible does this normally attract an admin fee?

If you have to book it separately has anyone done this before and been able to get VS to be able to link the bookings or put them onto one booking all together e.g. the original booking that was made? Also does this attract an admin fee?

Thanks

You will have to make a new booking - it isn't possible to make additions to an already ticketed booking.

It is possible for them to link bookings and there is no charge for that.

I have gone through this and what happened was that they create a new booking for the additional passenger(s) and then you can get them to merge the bookings. It does usually come at a bit of I cost as far as I can remember.

Just done similar for my parents to join us on a trip to the states next february - bagged our reward flights first then booked a pair of revenue UC tickets for them a couple of days later. Was told that they had linked the booking reference numbers in the system (at no cost) but we are travelling under two separate ones.

The CS person said that there was nothing to worry about with that though, that it didn't change anything - is that correct? Or are there benefits to having everyone on the same reference that I'm missing?

Not really, you can all still check in online at the same time etc, I guess the only thing you can't do is view all pax on the MMB screen, but that's the only real difference.

Linked bookings are a regular occurrence so there is nothing to worry about having it like this, and it's the only option so not much you could do about it anyway.
