You can already buy tickets for flights up to the end of March 2015, you just cant select your seat yet.
Just go into the Virgin site and do a dummy booking to see current prices.
They may go down. They may go up.
Some places are subject to sales more often than others.

I think the OP meant how much will it cost to reserve seats when the new system comes in.

The answer is it'll still be free in PE & UC. It's only Economy where they're introducing a £25 charge.

Yes Gumshoe I did mean how much it will cost to reserve.

I had seen posts elsewhere saying it would be more expensive. So If I wanted the economy seats upstairs it would be £25 per person to book and if I wanted to upgrade to PE & UC it would cost a lot more.

Don't know where you've read that but it's not the case.

If you click on the Take A Seat section on the home page on the VS website, it confirms in the first couple of paragraphs that UC & PE seat requests will be free.

Upgrading with miles will incur additional fees & taxes, but they're not for seat requests.

Flying UC, PE or being FC gold will mean seat requests after the 25th June will be free of charge. As it is now, but the difference being you can request your seat at the time of booking. So up to a year in advance. No more t-60/90.
For economy, after 25th June there's a £25 charge for seat requests prior to online check in which opens at T-24
Of course paying £25 for seat selection would be far cheaper than upgrading to PE or UC
