At t-60, this cabin looks rather quiet. Myself and one other selected already :)

I know this will change, just never seen such an open seat map.

I do wonder with all the confusion, whoever thinks and remembers to book seats - obviously I am not talking VFlyer category of traveller! - but mine was the same last week. Then within a few days UC to ANU is 3/4 full.

when i booked my daughter last week only 1 was greyed out and every other uc seat to nyc in july was available. It was only 6 hours into the booking widow though.

For the moans and groans about the seating policy changing, I do think its a great myth that the majority of pax will be sat waiting for the seat map to open. All the evidence and reports suggests the opposite, which is great for those pax that have seat selection high up their priority list.

My VS19 G seat map opened last Monday and so far only about 12 seats have been selected; 9 of which are on the upper deck :0

The main deck J cabin is still wide open.

VS flights to Grenada opened up this week (6 days ago) and still apart from me, wife and son only one other seat taken. I definitely think that this 60 day rule is a blessing in disguise for getting your favourite seats. I always make sure to set a reminder on my phone to get first dibs (sad I know). But otherwise I can see how most people who book months in advanced don't remember when its t-60!

I guess eventually they may start a 60 day seat selection reminder via e-mail :(

Unlikely, given that T-60 will cease to exist a month today.

The fact is, as Neil says, most passengers don't really care where they sit and of the minority who do, only a small number will be aware of T-60 or be waiting to request a seat the moment the map opens.

The new system, while great for those who can book their flights the day they go on sale, will actually put everyone else who doesn't have that luxury at a disadvantage. I for one will be sad to see T-60 go.

Enjoy it for another month, then the only people to get first dibs will be those that book as soon as the flight goes on sale :(

I for one will be on line at silly o'clock in the morning of 25th for my Feb 15 flight seats. Not too worried about the return unless I manage to upgrade that one too but didn't think it through booking a return flight on a Saturday so may end up still in PE. Actually that's probably the more important seat to bag.

UC to Anu in January was a similar story - I began to think we might have it almost to ourselves till about a week before. PE was almost fully booked both ways very early though.

When my VS 19 seat became available all PE seats were gone within 3 hours :0 Luckily I'd got in pretty early and snaffled some decent seats ):

With the current system, the seat map actually appears about 12hrs before the T-60 day limit, but it won't actually let you save your selection until after 8am on the T-60 day.

I've just checked the seat map on VS46 next month in Y. Apart from my friend's , the exit row and extra legroom seats, nothing else has been selected. UC is half full with most of the seats in the nose taken but the upper deck and the bar area totally free.

Either no one really cares about seat selection in Y or it's a virtually empty plane
