There was a mention of filming at Heathrow on the VS Facebook and twitter pages a couple of months ago as far as I can remember. It mentioned filming for ITV but I don't think it is a documentary about Virgin Atlantic specifically, I think it was about LHR in general (featuring bits of VS I presume), looking at the stories behind people travelling/arriving at the airport.

If that is the case, it sounds very much like an ITV rip-off of "Airport" on BBC. Some of the Airport episodes were good - and worrying. I remember a very early one where a VS Check-in agent (even think she was called Ginny) was applying to be cabin crew. She had failed the cabin safety exam and was on the "last chance saloon" re-sit. They put the B747 safety manual down in front of her before the exam, open on the pages with the info she had failed on and told her "read this".

"The next 6 weeks is set to discover who is, and who is NOT, BA".

Sounds like X-Factor for Cabin Crew.

Have you noticed the training staff at BA HQ seem a bit more, well, ahem, portly than they would allow the new recruits to be? ):

No? I know quite a few recent MF recruits, all varying in size and shape (yes you can't be overly portly though). I also know some BA training staff that are slimmer than the crew...

The cameras are allowed behind “millionaire’s door” at Heathrow Terminal 5,

Never heard it called that, I have heard "The million pound door", in reference to the price BA pay for it!

It's a door that gives access to the BA Concord Room which avoids pax having to go through the shops (and thus spend money on the fine selection of items available)

The 'million pound door' is a reference to the reputed cost that BA pay to HAL to cover the lost shopping revenue. Not sure if it is a one off cost or an annual fee.

HAL (BAA as was) doesn't charge shops rent but gets a cut of all sales.

Just read that it is being produced by the same company that did 24 hours in Police Custody and 24 Hours in A&E

No news as to when its being aired though

I was on board when they did the filming of this; the announcement was that the documentary was following trainee cabin crew and the show would air in May 'next year', which is now this year.

They were also doing panning shots of UC, production crew sitting in UC and generally being intrusive - VS credited me back the whole flight for this!

Different show but still of interest to V-Flyers - a new 3 part series going behind the scenes at LHR (yes, another one!) starts next Thursday on ITV.

I imagine it'll be more about the "characters" than anything else but may be entertaining.
