Upper Class with a baby

OK, so I know there will be a few (a lot???) on here that will be but I'd appreciate any advice from parents who've travelled UC with a baby in tow for a possible LHR-LAX trip next spring.

Are there any bassinet locations in UC?
Can I book before the little one arrives (August) given that there won't be a name (or date of birth) to go with the booking?

Any tips for keeping a six month old (relatively) quiet on an 11-hour flight would also be welcome.

In answer to your questions:

I can't say for certain but I'd imagine UC will have bassinet fixings at the bulkhead.

You can't put the baby on the ticket until he/she is born (need a name and date of birth!) but you phone up and add them so book whenever you want.

The baby is charged 10% of adult fare.

And in all honesty the baby will be fine, walk about, feed them, change them, they'll sleep most of the way. It's the 2 year olds that are the problem...

What aircraft are you flying on?
I think 8G is a bassinet position on the A346.

You can book baby before they are born, I have done this before. They put the name down as "Baby (surname)" and use the expected birth date. You just call them afterwards to update

You should get no flack about your trip from anyone on here. Many of us have done numerous long haul in various cabins from just born through to grumpy teenagers. As others say, just add name once known. Is also true that little ones are dead easy, its the 2-3 yr olds that become more challenging...
Only real obvious one to note- take a spare pair of clothes to change into as mishaps do/have happened....

Babies cry- fact.
Babies cry in any cabin- fact.
There are no rules about babies in premium cabins.
As there are no rules about vastly overweight corporate fliers farting their way through an overnight flight.
