WE are flying to San Francisco in September from Heathrow, flying PE on Virgin, which is the best lounge to book into?

We recently spent some time in the V-room at Gatwick and enjoyed it, so wanted to do the same at Heathrow?

There is no V-Room at LHR.

Aside from the VS Clubhouse, which does sometimes allow PE passengers to pay for entry on the day (but never guaranteed and often denied), there's the No.1 Lounge which isn't bad at all.

It offers discounts and miles for Flying Club members, details here: https://www.no1traveller.com/virginatlantic

As said above, the No.1 Lounge at LHR T3 is really nice.

I think it goes without saying, but avoid the Servisair lounge.

No1 is almost a clubhouse in styling, though the service isn't quite there. Nice spa for the wife too - though no free treatments! Breakfast isn't as good as v-room, but you can get a bacon or sausage butty + some cereals (you have to ask for hot food from bar). It also serves free drinks, though charges for cocktails. A G+T or two before boarding from them is my usual favourite thing to do.

It's definitely the best pay-for lounge I've visited though globally, and isn't usually that busy for the SFO flight I've found. As a Priority pass member I use them whenever I am not clubhouse bound. If you pre-book they used to give a fast-track security voucher too.

Don't bother with the Servisair in T3. Not worth your time or money.
