Afternoon All,

I have decided to cancel my NYC trip and switch to the warmer climate of Dubai in November. It will be myself and my wife travelling with our 10 month old baby.

We are booked into PE both ways but due to the way the flights were booked we are on two different flight bookings. My wife and child on one and me on the other.

When i asked the FC rep to post a note on the booking that we would like a seat with the skycot he said that i cannot book in online and they cannot guarantee that my wife and i will be able to sit together because it depends on availability when we arrive at checkin.

my question is do people have experience with this process and do you normally get the skycot seats when you get to the airport. Otherwise should i just book myself in online and grab the seats anyway? ?| ?|

Hi! I've got a fair bit of experience travelling Virgin with the kids in tow, starting from 11 weeks old.

I wrote a piece about pre-booking the bassinet, you can read it here http://v-flyer.com/forum/index.php?f=4& ... =viewtopic but I'm not sure what the recent changes to booking seats will mean. I think you should still be able to phone up 90 days in advance and pre-book them.

However at 10 months old I've got a feeling your baby might be too big for the bassinet. Check the dimensions on the Virgin Atlantic site. I'd still pre-book the bassinet anyway as the bulkheads give the space you need for the baby. You might also want to consider booking a "seat-plus" to give you a seat for them to sleep.

Generally the sky-cot seats are given out in pairs as it's one bassinet to two seats so they wouldn't put your wife and a random stranger next to your baby!

Here's some trip reports for you to digest
