Possible but doesn't sound like a reason to stop flying altogether - renegotiate, certainly, but pull out?

I just think it was an overly expensive route to operate, compared to their others, that didn't yield enough return.

Hong Kong had fallen behind Dubai and Singapore as the favoured transit/stopping-off point for Australians going to Europe in the last few years.

VS's one route to Europe via HK for Australians effectively became the least marketable routing.

indeed I have looked to go to Aus a few times over the last 6 years and had successfully gone on one of those occassions but I couldn't fly VS due to their timetable an due to the route they take it made it difficult to fit in with the timescales that I had and the price was substantially more which I in the end flew with Singapore Airlines via Singapore and it offered greater flexibility and a substantially amount cheaper also, although not the glamour of the VS brand I have come to love.
